On June 23, 2022, the Sarajevo ACM-W Professional Chapter celebrated International Women in Engineering Day by organizing two workshops at the International University of Sarajevo. The workshops were open to all genders.
The first workshop introduced participants to IT networking concepts. Amal Mersni guided participants through creating a simulated home network using Cisco Packet Tracer, with support from Nesibe Merve Husejnović and students Denis Suljaković, Sara Fileković, and Muhamed Imamović. The workshop was held in the Computer Lab (A F1.3).
The second workshop, "Introduction to Arduino and Electronics," covered microcontroller basics and electronic component connections. Farah Memić introduced participants to the Arduino microcontroller and Arduino IDE, with support from Šejla Salihović and Ilma Kliko. The workshop was held in the RDC Microcontroller Lab.
International Women in Engineering Day is one of the chapter's community outreach initiatives, raising awareness about women pursuing engineering and highlighting the career opportunities available in the field. This event was selected for the ACM-W Europe chapter spotlight.
