Hava Dedić, a Software Engineering student at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS), International University of Sarajevo, was awarded the ACM-W Scholarship for Attendance of Research Conferences by the Association for Computing Machinery's Council on Women in Computing (ACM-W).
Established in 2013, the ACM-W Scholarship supports women in computer science and related programs who wish to attend research conferences. Applications are evaluated six times per year, with typically three to six awards granted per round worldwide.
Hava represented IUS at IEEE EDUCON 2026 from April 27–30, 2026, in Cairo, Egypt, one of the flagship conferences of the IEEE Education Society. She presented her poster "STEM Through Stories: The Marie Curies of the Mediterranean" at the Women in Engineering Poster Session.
Hava's achievement reflects the chapter's commitment to supporting women in computing to access international scholarship opportunities and present their research at leading conferences.
